Supporter Alliance Statement

Chairman of the Supporters Alliance Rich Rendell has released a statement regarding news of Darren Way being removed from his position as first team manager. The full statement reads as follows:

“On behalf of the Supporters Alliance, I would like to thank Darren Way for his services over a number of years. However, we must now look to the future where we have new ownership looming in the coming weeks to mark a completely fresh chapter in our club’s history.

“In the meantime, with Neale Marmon taking over First Team managerial duties, I urge all supporters to get behind him, captain Gary Warren and the playing squad to maintain our EFL status. It’s important the fans come back to Huish Park in these next seven cup finals, four of which are at home.

“The home and away support has been fantastic this season despite the campaign’s difficulties, but with such importance on these coming matches our unity is vital.

“Having spoken with Neale this morning (Monday), it’s clear the message of ‘Achieve By Unity’ is important now more than ever and as part of that, he is making all First Team training sessions open to the supporters which the club will provide details for.

“He knows our safety can only be achieved together and it’s a great opportunity to come together as one, so I’m urging all stay away fans to return and help become the 12th man as we look to get over the line and start the next chapter in our club’s history on a positive note.”
