Man of the Match Voting for Yeovil v Notts County

Yeovil Town got back to winning ways this afternoon as they saw off fellow relegated club Notts County 3-1 at Huish Park. After a run of three straight defeats it was important to stop the rot, but going up against a team who beat Chorley 5-1 on Monday certainly wouldn't be easy.

In a fairly even first half where both sides had chances it was Yeovil who took the lead on 40 minutes through Courtney Duffus who claimed his fourth goal of the season.

After the break Notts County pressed hard but some dogged defending from Yeovil kept them at bay. There were many who feared that County would find a way through but on 81 minutes the nerves were calmed as Yeovil got their second, Luke Wilkinson heading in from close range.

The three points were well and truly wrapped up just three minutes later as Miles Hippolyte's shot from outside the box went under the body of Sam Slocombe for a 3-0 scoreline.

A Notts County penalty deep into stoppage time made it 3-1 but it mattered little as Yeovil claimed a welcome three points. The result lifts them up to 12th in the table after 8 matches played.

Man of the Match voting for this game is now open and will remain open until just after the Sutton United match on Tuesday evening. You can cast your vote here.
