Man of the Match Voting for Yeovil v AFC Fylde

Yeovil Town made it four wins in a row this afternoon as they saw off AFC Fylde 3-2 at Huish Park. It was going to be interesting to see if we could carry on the momentum from last weeks superb performance at Halifax Town and Yeovil managed to secure all three points in front of their home supporters.

Yeovil got off to a flying start by going 1-0 up with only 5 minutes gone. A free kick just outside of the box was passed short to Murphy who slammed it beyond Montgomery in the Fylde goal.

Just 9 minutes later Yeovil doubled their lead as Myles Hippolyte slotted the ball into the bottom corner. It was nothing more than Yeovil deserved as they had been the superior team straight from the kick off.

Town almost made it three as Rhys Murphy finished well into the top corner but it was ruled out for offside. Fylde began to etch their way back into the game and Yeovil were thankful to go into the break with a 2 goal cushion.

Fylde started the second half as they finished the first as they were now fully in control of the game. They pulled one back on 59 minutes and many feared that they would go on to equalize.

Yeovil nerves were calmed on 78 minutes as Jimmy Smith got a debut goal to put Yeovil 3-1 up and restore their two goal cushion. It looked as though Yeovil would have no problems seeing this game out but Fylde got their second goal on 84 minutes to set up a tense ending to the game.

Thankfully, Yeovil managed to hold on and secure yet another victory to keep Yeovil climbing the table. They are now 4th in the table with 19 points.
