The first half was fairly un-eventful as both sides offered very little threat to the opposition goal. As the half wore on though, it seemed as though Solihull were edging the game as their passing and creativity was beginning to put Yeovil under some pressure. It was a bit of a relief to go in at 0-0 as this meant Darren Sarll would hopefully be able to spur them into life.
The half time team talk appeared to work well as Yeovil were now creating some chances. They broke the deadlock on 58 minutes as Gold Omotayos shot was blocked and rebounded into the path of Luke Wilkinson who fired the ball into the Solihull net.
Chances for both teams seemed very sparce for the remainder of the half but the game began to heat up in injury time. Liam O'Brien was forced to go off with an injury and with Yeovil having already made their three substitues we would have to see the game out with 10 men and an outfield player in goal.
Luke Wilkinson was given the task of trying to stop Solihull for the remaining 7 minutes of injury time and he managed to do just that, even producing a decent save to ensure the three points were taken back to South Somerset.
The result sees Yeovil remain in 4th position in the table with 22 points but the gap has been closed slightly to the top three positions.
Man of the Math voting for this result is now open and will remain open until just after the Aldershot Town game on Tuesday evening. You can cast your vote here.
