The match had barely began when it had to be halted for a nasty injury to Rhys Murphy and Bromley goalkeeper Mark Cousins. A loose ball was chased down by Murphy but the Bromley keeper also made an attempt to clear the ball. The result was a nasty collision which left both players on the deck and in need of medical treatment.
Rhys Murphy eventually got up and walked off the pitch, being replaced by Lawson D'Ath. The Bromley keeper needed further treatment, and was eventually stretchered off. Bromley had no reserve goalkeeper so defender Chris Bush had to go in goal for the remainder of the match.
After play resumed it was Bromley who looked the better side as they were able to catch Yeovil on the break on many occasions. They took the lead on 22 minutes as Michael Cheek netted from close range from a free kick.
They almost doubled their advantage shortly after but Adam Smith produced an excellent stop to deny them of a second goal.
As the half wore on, Yeovil began to play to their strengths, passing the ball neatly and working their way into good positions. They drew the match level in first half injury time, Jimmy Smith heading past Chris Bush.
After the 19 minutes of first half injury time had been played the match was all square, and both teams had a decent shout at taking the three points.
The game was fairly flat for the opening period of the second half, neither side wanting to make a mistake that could see the match lost but Yeovil were beginning to get their excelling passing going again, and once again began working their way into good positions up the pitch.
They got their reward on 72 minutes as Marc-Anthony Okoye turned the ball into his own net from a Craig Alcock cross.
Just 5 minutes later, the points were sealed as Charlie Lee produced a fantastic header that looped over Chris Bush to ensure that it was a calm end to the game.
With the winning run now up to 7 games, and Yeovil continually proving that they have no-body to fear in this league, time will tell as to how far this team can go. Bromley hadn't lost a match until this afternoon which just goes to show that we have a fantastic squad here. The result puts us just one point behind them now and second in the table after 14 games.
