The game got off to a good start for Yeovil as they took the lead just 8 minutes in through Matt Worthington. Some good build up play saw Rhys Murphy play a fantastic ball into the path of Worthington who fired the ball into the bottom corner for a 1-0 advantage.
Yeovil had most of the play in the first half but failed to muster any further clear cut chances. Jimmy Smith saw his header hit the bar twice but that was as good as it got for the remainder of the half.
The second half saw Chorley begin to play their way back into the game as they began to create opportunities. In the 70th minute they deservedly drew the match level as a goal mouth scramble saw Ntumba Massanka poke the ball past Nelson.
Yeovil pressed on looking for the winner and it appeared as though they had done just that after a free kick from James Tilley found Tom Bradbury who slotted the ball into the Chorley net. Unfortunately he was seen to be offside and it appeared as though we would be heading for a draw.
However, with 86 minutes on the clock, Rhys Murphy got his 9th goal of the season after heading the ball past Matt Urwin from James Tilley's cross. 6 minutes of injury time was added on but Yeovil managed to see the game out for a well fought 3 points in Lancashire.
The result saw Yeovil move to 2nd in the table with 34 points, just 1 point behind leaders Bromley who's emphatic 5-0 home win over Halifax Town saw them return to the top of the league.
