Man of the Match Voting Results for Hartlepool

Last Tuesday night saw Yeovil Town go crashing out of this seasons FA Cup as they lost 4-1 at home to Hartlepool United. The match was played on a Tuesday night after the original fixture was meant to be played on the weekend but it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Despite the heavy scoreline it was actually Yeovil who started the brighter of the two sides - taking the lead just 3 minutes into the match through Lawson D'Ath.

Sadly, this was as good as it got for the home side as the lead only lasted 3 minutes. Myles Hippolyte's attempted clearance fell into the path of Hartlepool's Luke James who's shot rebounded in off the post.

The Yeovil defence was looking shaky throughout the match and it was only a matter of time before Hartlepool took the lead. 20 minutes into the first half Gavan Hoolahan fired the ball past Nelson from the edge of the area to give Hartlepool a deserved lead.

The rest of the half saw Yeovil desperately trying to prevent a third goal for Hartlepool as they continued to look shaky in defence. It was a relief when the half time whistle blew as Yeovil only went in chasing the game 2-1. Had Hartlepool been more ruthless in front of goal in the first half the game would have already been beyond Yeovil's reach.

The second half saw Yeovil look a bit more comfortable on the ball but they were still lacking that cutting edge that has seen us do so well in the league so far this season. Hartlepool kept their cool though and increased their lead on 59 minutes when Nicke Kabamba headed in from close range.

Yeovil were reduced to 10 men on 70 minutes as Luke Wilkinson was sent off for a second yellow card, effectively ending any slim chance Yeovil had to force a reply in the North-East.

Hartlepool were awarded a penalty on 86 minutes and Gime Toure send Nelson the wrong way to reward the 101 travelling Hartlepool fans with a 4-1 win for their efforts in attending the game.
