Yeovil took the lead on 23 minutes thanks to some good hold up play by Rhys Murphy which allowed Yeovil players to arrive in the box and a good cross to Matt Worthington allowed him to slam the ball home for 1-0.
The lead didn't last long though as Yeovil gave away a soft goal from a free kick. Peter Kioso was left un-marked at the near post who headed past Ted Cann for 1-1.
Yeovil re-claimed the lead just before half time as Charlie Lee bundled the ball home following a goal-mouth scramble that saw about 4 shots on goal attempted to be cleared.
In the second half Rhys Murphy was shown a straight red card which was completely unjustified and Hartlepool were able to draw the match level again on 71 minutes. Another piece of poor defending allowed Gus Mufata to head home completely unmarked.
