Match Report: Dorchester Town v Yeovil Town

Yeovil Town put in a sub-par performance at Dorchester Town yesterday evening as they were held to a 0-0 draw with the Southern League side. Very few chances came for Yeovil as they struggled to assert themselves in the game.

Yeovil again fielded a strong starting XI wihch consisted of Grant Smith, Morgan Williams, Josh Staunton, Jamie Reckord, Max Hunt, Sam Perry, Lawson D'Ath, Alex Fisher, Malachi Linton, Charlie Wakefield and a trialist.

On the bench was Max Evans, Olly Haste, Toby Stephens, Olly Holbert and a number of trialists.

Dorchester kicked off towards the away end.

The game had very few chances for either side, with Yeovil's best chance coming after 7 minutes when a cross from Morgan Williams wasn't dealt with by the Dorchester defence and Alex Fisher's effort was well saved.

Yeovil were able to prevent Dorchester from creating any chances but Yeovil struggled to be creative in front of goal which lead to attacks fading into nothing.

Yeovil made two substitutions at half time as Max Hunt and Lawson D'Ath were replaced by a trialist and Ollie Hulbert.

Yeovil again continued to struggle in the second half but Alex Fisher came close to taking the lead on 53 minutes when he headed Charlie Wakefield's cross just wide.

Malachi Linton was then replaced by a trialist on 60 minutes as Dorchester were beginning to get forward themselves, making the defence work to keep them at bay.

With 12 minutes to go Charlie Wakefield was replaced by a trialist before Alex Fisher was replaced by Toby Stephens on 85 minutes.

Neither side looked like scoring in the closing stages and the game finished level.
