Match Report: Dorchester Town v Yeovil Town

Yeovil Town came away from The Avenue Stadium with a resounding 5-0 win over Southern League side Dorchester Town. A sub-strength XI during the first half went in at half time 1-0 up but Yeovil then brought on a lot of first team players in the second half and they ran Dorchester rampant to eventually win 5-0.

Yeovil started with Lewis Williams, Aidan Skiverton, Jacob Shore, Ollie Haste, Will Dawes, Trialist, Trialist, Josh Owers, Benjani Jr, Jordan Young and a Trialist.

Yeovil made a bright start and were looking lively going forward. One of the trialists was Sonny Blu Lo-Everton and he was linking up nicely with another trialist who was causing the Dorchester defence a load of problems.

With 15 minutes gone Yeovil hit the bar when Will Dawes was able to fire at goal from close range.

Just four minutes later Yeovil were ahead when the lively trialist got on the scoresheet with a shot to the bottom corner.

Yeovil continued to play well during the first half and were creating opportunities but they weren't able to make much of them.

There was only one change at half time as Will Dawes was replaced by Alex Whittle.

Dorchester started the second half on the front foot and were putting Yeovil under some pressure.

On 56 minutes though Yeovil made 9 changes when Lewis Williams, Jordan Young, Josh Owers, Ollie Haste, Aidan Skiverton, Benjani Jr and the three trialists were replaced by Will Buse, Morgan Williams, Jake Wannell, Matt Worthington, Jordan Maguire-Drew, Zack Bell, Charlie Cooper, Rhys Murphy and Frank Nouble.

From then on Yeovil were in total control of the game and on 60 minutes Rhys Murphy doubled Yeovil's lead when he was able to dance through the Dorchester defence and find the back of the net.

It took another 18 minutes for Yeovil to get their third when Jordan Maguire-Drew picked up the ball outside the box and fires an effort into the corner of the net.

Yeovil were now in their full stride and four minutes later Maguire-Drew got his second when a mistake from the Dorchester goalkeeper was punished and he was able to slot the ball in.

With four minutes left Yeovil made it five when a lovely bit of link-up play with Frank Nouble and Rhys Murphy allowed Nouble to find some space and he finished expertly.
