Match Report: Worthing v Yeovil Town The winning streak continued for Yeovil Town as they overcame Worthing 2-1 at Woodside Road. An early goal from Matt Worthington put the away side ahead but the game was level in the 87th minute when Worthing were awarded a penalty. However, Yeovil's spirit and fight saw them retake the lead deep into injury time with a Morgan Williams header and Town returned to Somerset victorious once again. Next Fixture

Mark Cooper named an unchanged starting XI to the side that beat Southend last weekend and stuck with the 4-4-2 system with Alex Whittle, Jake Wannell, Morgan Williams and Michael Smith in front of Joe Day. Will Dawes, Matt Worthington, Josh Owers and Jordan Young were in midfield while Frank Nouble and Rhys Murphy were up front.
On the bench was Will Buse, Jordan Stevens, Jordan Maguire-Drew, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton and Zac Bell.
Worthing kicked off towards the home end.
It was a good start for Yeovil as after just 8 minutes they had the lead. Rhys Murphy did really well to break through the defenders, ran on at goal and got a shot off but his effort was parried to the on-rushing Matt Worthington who had a simple finish.
Worthing were setting in 5th place before this game and only three points behind us so they have shown they are a decent side at this level. Yeovil were able to keep them quiet during the first half. They didn't threaten us much and we were able to deal with any threat they posed.
On 39 minutes Yeovil had a penalty appeal waved away when Rhys Murphy was brought down in the box but nothing given.
Half Time: Worthing 0-1 Yeovil Town
Neither side made changes at half time and the game continued in a similar fashion to the first.
On 57 minutes Yeovil almost made it 2-0 when Matt Worthington unleashed a brilliant shot which Roco Rees had to push onto the post and away.
Both sides made substitutions on 67 minutes when Jake Robinson was replaced by Bailey Smith for Worthing and Yeovil replaced Rhys Murphy with Jordan Stevens.
Four minutes later Worthing made their final substitutions as Odei Martin Sorondo and Joan Luque were replaced by Liam Vincent and Jordan Adyemi.
Yeovil were creating some half chances but they weren't able to increase their lead and with only a 1 goal advantage against a good side it's always going to be a bit nervy.
Then, with 3 minutes left of the 90, Worthing were awarded a penalty when Jake Wannell clashed with Joel Colbran and the referee awarded the kick. It looked like there wasn't anything in the challenge and the Town fans were furious. After a delay for some treatment to a Yeovil player, Ollie Pearce scored the kick to level the game.
Nine minutes of time was added on and Yeovil replaced Michael Smith with Jordan Maguire-Drew and with 2 minutes left Yeovil were ahead again. A free kick from the right was met by Morgan Williams who headed in to spark wild celebrations in the away end.
Full Time: Worthing 1-2 Yeovil Town
I think it's fair to say that before the game most Town fans would have taken a point at this game. Playing away at a team that is sitting 5th and on a plastic pitch was never going to be easy but this Yeovil side just keep battling and instead of settling for the point they kept pushing for the winner and they got their reward. The victory takes us 3 points clear after 12 games, a good place to be and with 2 home games coming up hopefully we can take full advantage.
Yeovil's next fixture is on Tuesday as Weymouth visit Huish Park. Kick off is at 7:45PM.
