Mark Cooper made four changes to the side that started at Bath on Wednesday. Alex Whittle was out with an injury and Alex Fisher was dropped while Frank Nouble and Duncan Idehen dropped to the bench. In came Will Dawes, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, Sonny Cox and Rhys Murphy.
Town opted for a 4-3-3 formation with Will Dawes, Jake Wannell, Morgan Williams and Michael Smith in front of Joe Day. Matt Worthington, Charlie Cooper and Sonny Blu Lo-Everton were in midfield while Sonny Cox, Rhys Murphy and Jordan Young were up front.
On the bench was Jake Hyde, Jordan Maguire-Drew, Josh Owers, Duncan Idehen and Frank Nouble.
Town made a blistering start to the game and had two superb chances within the first 10 minutes to take the lead. Firstly Rhys Murphy was put through on goal one-on-one with Ryan Sandford but his shot was wide and then three minutes later some superb defending prevented Jordan Young from slotting into an empty net.
On 9 minutes Yeovil were awarded a penalty when Matt Worthington was fouled in the box. Rhys Murphy stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to give Town a deserved lead.
The lead didn't last long though as Yeovil gave away possession cheaply and Luke Allen put a good cross to the far post for George Alexander to head in to level the game.
Straight from the kick off - Charlie Cooper used the strong wind to his advantage when he tried to lob the keeper but the ball hit the bar, bounced onto the back of Ryan Sandford and out for a corner.
Yeovil's attacking play continued to cause Datford problems and on 24 minutes Michael Smith was in one-one-one but the effort was blocked. Shortly after Sonny Cox's effort was pushed away as Town just couldn't be clinical enough to take their chances.
On 35 minutes Yeovil were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and Jordan Young stepped up to curl his effort around the wall but the ball struck the bar and away.
With three minutes to go until half time Yeovil again had a chance to re-gain the lead when Sonny Cox again saw his effort blocked and then the loose ball was dragged wide by Worthington.
Two minutes of time was added on at the end and the game was somehow level.
Half Time: Dartford 1-1 Yeovil Town
On 51 minutes Jordan Young had another free kick on the edge of the D but his effort hit the wall this time.
Dartford and Yeovil made substitutions on 63 minutes as Dartford replaced Tyrell Miller-Rodney with Paul Rooney and Yeovil subbed Sonny Cox and Rhys Murphy for Jake Hyde and Frank Nouble.
With 20 minutes to go Yeovil paid the price for not taking their chances in the first half when Richard Chin nicked the ball off the Yeovil defence, ran through at goal and finished superbly past Joe Day.
Yeovil certainly weren't out of the game though and they levelled the game again on 77 minutes when Frank Nouble's superb run on the left allowed him to give it to Jordan Young who turned the ball home to set up an exciting finish to the game.
The final 10 minutes were a bit scrappy with both teams having chances to win. Will Dawes's effort was straight at Sandford and then in stoppage time Dartford almost scored from a corner but some good defending prevented the goal.
Yeovil replaced Jordan Young with Jordan Maguire-Drew in the 93rd minute and the game finished level.
Full Time: Dartford 2-2 Yeovil Town
While it was disappointing to have not come away with all three points given the sheer amount of chances we had, a point on the road is still something to be positive about. With the teams chasing us all in FA Trophy action yesterday we have now extended our lead to 7 points with the same number of games played.
Our next fixture is next Saturday when Hampton & Richmond Borough visit Huish Park. Kick off is at 3:00PM
