Mark Cooper named an unchanged starting XI from last weekend and they went for a 4-5-1 formation with Alex Whittle, Jake Wannell, Morgan Williams and Michael Smith in front of Joe Day. Sonny Blu Lo-Everton and Matt Worthington were just in front of the defenders while Dylan Morgan, Frank Nouble and Jordan Young were supporting Sam Pearson up front.
On the bench was Jordan Stevens, Josh Owers, Will Dawes, Alex Fisher and Jay Foulston.
Havant and Waterlooville kicked off towards the home end.
Yeovil survived an early scare when Joe Day was called into action to tip a header from Callum Kealy onto the bar.
Town settled in after that and forced some early corners but they didn't trouble the Havant defence.
With 18 minutes gone Yeovil had to make their first substitution as Alex Whittle had to be replaced by Jay Foulston through injury.
Little was happening in the game until 31 minutes when Yeovil went in front. A nice team move saw Sam Pearson find Sonny Blu Lo-Everton in the box and his ball across the goal line was bundled home by Jake Wannell.
Half Time: Yeovil Town 1-0 Havant & Waterlooville
The second half saw Yeovil not really in complete control of proceedings but they certainly had their chances to put the game to bed.
Havant made their first substitution on 59 minutes when Callum Kealy was replaced by Ethan Beckford.
Two minutes later Yeovil were through on goal when Sam Pearson found himself one-on-one with Ross Worner but the keeper made the save.
Havant made their second sub on 62 minutes as they replaced Alfy Whittingham with Roarie Deacon. Yeovil replaced Dylan Morgan with Jordan Stevens shortly after.
On 69 minutes Yeovil were through one-on-one again as Jordan Stevens broke through but again Ross Worner kept the score at 1-0.
Yeovil made their final substitution on 77 minutes as Sam Pearson was replaced by Will Dawes.
Five minutes later Havant replaced Harry Jewitt-White with Sion Spence.
The final 10 minutes were fairly comfortable as Havant didn't really threaten Yeovil. The worry was that we'd end up getting punished for our wasted chances earlier on but our defence was dealing with Havant's attacks pretty well.
Five minutes of time was added on and Yeovil saw the game out for another three points.
Full Time: Yeovil Town 1-0 Havant & Waterlooville
Every win takes us another step towards promotion and with Worthing winning at Weymouth this afternoon it was good to keep the 10 point lead and not put ourselves under any un-necessary pressure.
Our next fixture is on Tuesday night as Weston-super-Mare visit Huish Park. Kick off is at 7:45PM
