Mark Cooper made four changes to the side that beat Farnborough 3-1 on Saturday. Jordan Young returned to the starting line up after his suspension while Will Dawes, Josh Owers and Dylan Morgan also started. Frank Nouble, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, Michael Smith and Sam Pearson all dropped to the bench.
Yeovil opted for a 4-5-1 formation with Alex Whittle, Jake Wannell, Morgan Williams and Will Dawes in front of Joe Day. Josh Owers and Matt Worthington were sat in front of the defenders while Dylan Morgan, Jordan Stevens and Jordan Young were just behind Alex Fisher up front.
On the bench was Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, Michael Smith, Sam Pearson, Frank Nouble and Jay Foulston.
Yeovil had the better of the chances in the first half. Jordan Young tested the Aveley keeper after 7 minutes after being put through and one minute later Alex Fisher also had a shot saved after firing at goal from a narrow angle.
Aveley were only creating half chances for the first half as Joe Day wasn't in any trouble of making a few routine saves.
Yeovil saw an effort blazed over the bar from close range on 25 minutes which was as good a chance as they could create for the rest of the half.
The closest Aveley came to breaking the deadlock was on 44 minutes when a low cross across goal wasn't met by anybody in the box and the teams were level at the break.
Half Time: Aveley 0-0 Yeovil Town
Yeovil replaced Alex Fisher with Frank Nouble at half time.
There really wasn't anything to report on for most of the second half. Yeovil were not able to create any chances and Aveley were very wasteful with their efforts as they rarely troubled Joe Day.
Will Dawes had to be replaced by Michael Smith after an injury on 58 minutes and 10 minutes later Josh Owers was replaced by Sonny Blu Lo-Everton.
In stoppage time Joe Day made a superb save to tip the ball over the bar and make sure Yeovil returned to Somerset with another point.
Full Time: Aveley 0-0 Yeovil Town
