After an even first half Bromley took the lead through Michael Cheek but a penalty from Rhys Murphy levelled the scores. Yeovil had chances to win it late on but an unfortunate own goal gave the away side the victory.

Darren Sarll made two changes to the side that beat Woking 2-1 on Saturday. Matt Worthington and Joe Quigley regained their places in the starting XI as Tom Knowles and Reuben Reid dropped to the bench.

Yeovil lined up in their normal 4-4-2 formation with Carl Dickinson, Max Hunt, Billy Sass Davies and Alex Bradley in front of Adam Smith. Charlie Lee, Josh Neufville, Albi Skendi and Matt Worthington made up the midfield while Joe Quigley and Rhys Murphy lead the attack.

On the bench was Jimmy Smith, Michael Kelly, Tom Knowles, Reuben Reid and Chris Dagnall.

Bromley kicked off towards the home terrace.

Yeovil made the better of the opening exchanges and won their first corner in the first minute on the left hand side. Matt Worthington's cross to the far post found Joe Quigley but his header was wide of the target.

Three minutes later some good play by Joe Quigley saw him beat a couple of the Bromley defenders and managed to get his shot away but it was straight at the keeper and Mark Couzins could make an easy save.

Bromley won their first corner of the game on 12 minutes. Frankie Raymond took the kick short to Luke Coulson who crossed the ball to the center of the box. Yeovil struggled to defend the ball away and after a few attempted clearances Yeovil were able to clear their lines.

The game then started to become quite a close battle but neither side were creating any clear cut chances.

It took until the 26th minute for a decent chance to come and it went Bromley's way as Taylor Maloney received the ball from Jack Bridge and was able to turn and produce a good shot that was just over the bar.

Yeovil then had a good opportunity of their own as Josh Neufville was fouled near the goal line on the right hand side and Yeovil had a free kick in a nice position to cross the ball in and put pressure on the Bromley defence. Carl Dickinson took the kick and crossed it hard and low to the center of the box but Bromley were able to clear the ball away and catch Yeovil on the counter attack but they weren't able to make the most of it.

Bromley almost took the lead out of nowhere on 35 minutes as some nice play by Courtney Duffus allowed him to find Michael Cheek who was able to turn and produce a low shot that looked to be curling into the bottom corner but the shot was just wide.

With just 4 minutes to go until half time Yeovil won another corner on the left hand side. Matt Worthington's cross was headed away by Byron Webster but Yeovil win the ball back and manage play it out to Josh Neufville on the left hand side who put a low cross in but Bromley manage to clear the danger.

1 minute of time was added on and the teams went in all square at the break after a pretty even first half.

Half Time: Yeovil Town 0-0 Bromley

Bromley the better start of the second half and almost took the lead straight away as some good play by Luke Coulson on the left hand side saw him produce a fantastic cross to find Courtney Duffus who headed the ball goal wards but Adam Smith made a good save to keep the scores level.

Frankie Raymond took the resulting corner which Yeovil manage to clear.

Bromley continued to look the better side as the half progressed and they took the lead on 56 minutes as a header by Michael Cheek found the top corner after Luke Coulson had delivered a perfect cross.

Bromley almost increased their lead moments later as they broke away on the right hand side. A low cross to the edge of the box found Frankie Raymond but he chose to side foot his effort at goal and Yeovil could easily block the effort.

On 62 minutes Yeovil were given a golden opportunity to level the scores as a shot from Rhys Murphy was handled in the area by Byron Webster and Yeovil were awarded a penalty.

Rhys Murphy stepped up to take the kick and fired the ball into the top left corner giving Mark Couzins no chance of producing a save.

On 67 minutes Yeovil made their first substitution as Matt Worthington was replaced by Tom Knowles.

Yeovil survived a scare on 77 minutes as a corner on the right was crossed in by Fankie Raymond which was flicked on to Michael Cheek who had most of the goal to aim at but his poked effort was somehow wide of the target.

Yeovil made their second substitution on 80 minutes as Joe Quigley was replaced by Reuben Reid.

They then made their final substitution on 82 minutes as Charlie Lee was replaced by Jimmy Smith.

With only 10 minutes plus injury time left the game was hanging in the balance and both sides knew that they could snatch all three points. Yeovil were pressing more than Bromley but they had to be wary of their opponents as any slip up or mistake could spell trouble.

On 85 minutes Bromley made their first substitution as Jack Bridge was replaced by Charlie Wakefield and on 88 minutes they made their second as Jack Holland was replaced by Kory Roberts.

Right at the end of the 90 minutes Yeovil thought they had snatched the lead as some good play by Tom Knowles on the right allowed him to find Reuben Reid in the box and his header went agonisingly wide of the target when it looked like he had scored.

6 minutes of time was added on and the game and both sides knew there was still time for a final twist.

On 93 minutes a chance went begging for Yeovil as Rhys Murphy spurned a header wide of the target when he should have at least tested the keeper. It seemed as though he wasn't expecting the ball to fall for him as Byron Webster missed his defensive header which seemed to put Murphy off.

Just one minute later though Bromley took the lead in a cruel fashion Reuben Reid's attempted defensive header from a cross into the box headed goal wards and beat Adam Smith to gift Bromley all three points.

Right at the end of the 96 minutes Bromley made their final substitution as Michael Cheek was replaced by James Alabi and Bromley made the trip home with all three points.

Full Time: Yeovil Town 1-2 Bromley

It was a harsh result in fairness for Yeovil as a draw would probably have been the fairest result on reflection of play but it football isn't always fair and Yeovil will have to put this result behind them and move on.

The defeat see's us stay in 12 place but now four points off a play off spot. As it stands most teams above us have games in hand over us so the true reflection of our league position will become clearer once the games even out again.

Our season continues on Saturday afternoon as Yeovil make the trip north to face Notts County at Meadow Lane.
