Chris Hargreaves made three changes to the side that lost to Taunton Town in midweek. Lawson D'Ath replaced the suspended Matt Worthington while Callum Rowe was dropped and Max Hunt took a placer on the bench as Morgan Williams and Owen Bevan returned to the starting XI.
Yeovil opted for a 5-3-2 formation with Morgan Williams, Owen Bevan and Ben Richards-Everton in front of Grant Smith. Sam Pearson, Chiori Johnson, Josh Staunton, Lawson D'Ath and Jamie Reckord made up the midfield while Malachi Linton and Gime Toure lead the front line.
On the bench was Max Hunt, Alex Fisher, Jake Scrimshaw, Sam Perry and Ollie Hulbert.
Yeovil kicked off towards the home end.
It didn't take long for Oldham to take the lead they only needed five minutes to break the deadlock. Some very poor defending saw a simple ball in the box fail to be cleared by three defenders and eventually Oscar Threlkeld was able to shoot at goal which took a deflection and found the back of the net.
Yeovil once again were just not up to the task at hand and to be fair, neither were the home side as the half continued with very little to report on.
Oldham had to make a substitution after 20 minutes when Dan Gardner had to replaced by Benny Couto.
Both sides continued to put in abject performances and half time came with Yeovil trailing.
Half Time: Oldham Athletic 1-0 Yeovil Town
Yeovil made their first change at half time as Gime Toure was replaced by Ollie Hulbert.
Yeovil were a little bit better in the second half, but that isn't saying much. It was still a completely dire performance.
Yeovil's second change came on 57 minutes when Malachi Linton was replaced by Alex Fisher. Shortly after Oldham replaced John Rooney with Conor Carty.
The game continued with pretty much nothing happening until Yeovil were awarded a corner on 72 minutes which was defended and Oldham broke away with Conor Carty laying the ball off for Mike Fondop to put into an empty net. Yep, we conceded from our own corner - brilliant!
With a 2-0 deficit, the game was out of our reach. Chiori Johnson was replaced by Jake Scrimshaw on 80 minutes and the closest we came to a goal was on 84 minutes when Jamie Reckord headed the ball onto the post.
Full Time: Oldham Athletic 2-0 Yeovil Town
Once again, this was a performance that completely lacked passion, urgency and commitment. It was another completely unacceptable performance and the 144 fans that made the journey deserved better. We are now just 1 point from the relegation zone, with only 2 wins from 14 games. Put simply, this is relegation form.
