Mark Cooper made four changes to the side that was defeated 2-1 at York City at the weekend. Jamie Reckord, Lawson D'Ath, Alex Fisher and Edwin Agbaje all regained their places in the starting XI while Matt Worthington, Jordan Maguire-Drew and Jordan Young were benched and Josh Staunton was dropped.
Yeovil opted for a 5-3-2 formation with Edwin Abgaje, Morgan Williams, Owen Bevan, Jamie Reckord and Ryan Law in front of Grant Smith. Josh Owers, Lawson A'Ath and Charlie Cooper made up the midfield while Alex Fisher and Seb Palmer-Houlden lead the attack.
On the bench was Matt Worthington, Jordan Maguire-Drew, Jordan Young, Malachi Linton and Chiori Johnson.
Yeovil kicked off towards the away end.
Altrincham were in control of the first half, playing calm, composed football. Grant Smith had to push an effort from Ryan Linney around the post after 12 minutes but it wasn't long before the away side took the lead.
A corner kick on 21 minutes from the right side to the back post wasn't defended at all and James Jones headed the ball home unmarked.
Yeovil continued to struggle and almost went 2-0 down after 30 minutes when Altrincham caught Yeovil on the break. It took a last ditch block from Owen Bevan on the line to keep the score at 1-0.
Half Time: Yeovil Town 0-1 Altrincham
Yeovil improved in the second half but were still struggling to create chances.
On 63 minutes Josh Owers was replaced by Jordan Maguire-Drew, who would soon be given a golden chance to level for Yeovil.
On 77 minutes Yeovil were awarded a penalty, when goal scorer James Jones deliberately handled the ball in the box and was shown a straight red card. Maguire-Drew stepped up and calmly put the ball past Ollie Byrne, who got a hand to his effort, to equalise for Town.
Yeovil then made a double substitution as Seb Palmer-Houlden and Charlie Cooper were replaced by Jordan Young and Chiori Johnson.
With a man advantage Yeovil were able to keep pressing the away side, but still couldn't turn that into any real chances and the game finished level.

Lifting ourselves out of the bottom four can potentially give us a psychological boost going into a tough game at home to Woking on Saturday. If we are able to go on a good run of form over the next month the feel good factor may return to Huish Park, especially with the news regarding SU Glovers taking stewardship of the club.
