The game began superbly for Yeovil as Miles Hippolyte took advantage of the home side's defence switching off and fired the ball past Mitchell Walker to put Yeovil 1 up.
9 minutes later Aldershot pulled the game level from a corner as Max Hunt headed the ball past debutant keeper Adam Smith.
The game was fairly even after this goal as both sides were pressing to take the lead. It was Yeovil who managed to that on 38 minutes as Jimmy Smith produced a fine curling shot that beat Walker and nestled into the bottom corner to restore Yeovil's advantage.
The lead was increased further on 59 minutes as Rhys Murphy produced a fantastic shot that flew into the roof of the net for 3-1. He could have easily had another shortly after as a mix up in the Aldershot defence allowed him in clean on goal but his shot was parried away.
Aldershot's only real threat throughout this game was from their set plays as they seemed to be able to put in a dangerous ball in every time. They had a succession of corners and plenty of free kicks as the game drew to a close but Yeovil managed to deal with them all to ensure they kept hold of their advantage.
The win keeps Yeovil in 4th place but equal on points with both Halifax and Woking. We are 4 points behind league leaders Bromley who we play on Saturday at Huish Park.
