Match Report: Yeovil Town v Truro City

Yeovil Town made it two wins from two home games this evening as they came from behind to beat Truro City 2-1. A below-par performance for most of the match saw Town go 1-0 down on 55 minutes and it took until the 84th minute for Town to level the game only to go on to win in the 90th minute.

Mark Cooper kept the same starting XI and formation to the side that beat St Albans on Saturday. The only change coming on the bench as Sonny Blu Lo-Everton was dropped for Zac Bell.

Yeovil kicked off towards the home end.

Town struggled throughout the majority of the game but they started off with some good spells of play but no real chances of note.

Truro almost took the lead on 14 minutes when a shot from Ed Palmer had to be blocked by Josh Staunton.

Town struggled to keep the ball and were getting frustrated with their inability to put any real pressure on the Truro defence.

The half continued with Town not at their best and the game was level at half time.

Half Time: Yeovil Town 0-0 Truro City

Town made their first substitute at half time as Morgan Williams was replaced by Zac Bell.

On 54 minutes Yeovil fell behind when a simple ball over the top carved Yeovil open and Andrew Neal finished into the bottom corner to put the away side ahead.

Yeovil continued to struggle to get forward and this was frustrating the home fans who were desperate for Town to get back into the game.

Yeovil made a double substitution on 68 minutes when Jake Hyde and Jordan Maguire-Drew made way for Jordan Young and Olly Thomas.

Five minutes later Truro replaced Dan Rooney with Ryan Brett.

With 10 minutes to go Yeovil were starting to have more of the possession and putting pressure on Truro.

On 84 minutes Town were suddenly level when Olly Thomas ran onto a good through ball and finished calmly into the bottom corner.

Two minutes later he almost grabbed the winner but his shot was blocked.

On 90 minutes the comeback was complete when Jake Wannell headed a long ball in to send the home fans into raptures.

Five minutes of time was added on and Yeovil were able to see the game out for the win.

Full Time: Yeovil Town 2-1 Truro City

It certainly wasn't a classic at Huish Park tonight and if truth be told, Truro will fell hard done by to have been beaten tonight. Town were nowhere near at the level they need to be but having said that, we still picked up the three points. A sign of a good team is a team that plays badly and still wins, that certainly happened tonight.

Our next fixture is on Saturday when Maidstone United visit Huish Park. Kick off is at 3:00PM.
